Mae Sot Airport (MAQ) is in Tha Sai Luat subdistrict, in the Mae Sot district of Tak province, and the Department of Airports runs it. As of 30 August 2026 its only scheduled route was to Bangkok Don Mueang.

Which airline flies to Mae Sot Airport

As of 30 August 2026, Nok Air flies between Mae Sot and Bangkok Don Mueang, and it was the only airline on the operator's own flight board that day.

Don Mueang is the Bangkok end of that route. If you are arriving on a long-haul flight into Suvarnabhumi, that means crossing Bangkok between two separate airports, and that transfer has to be planned in its own right.

The Yangon service

Mae Sot's first international commercial service, to Yangon in Myanmar, began on 29 October 2017. The service was reported to have ended in January 2018.

The terminal that opened in 2019

A new passenger terminal opened in April 2019. It was built for 1.7 million passengers a year, against 170,000 for the building it replaced, which is far above the airport's published 2025 passenger total.

The evacuation flights that were approved in April 2024

In April 2024 Myanmar asked Thailand for three flights into Mae Sot between the 7th and the 9th of that month, to extract 617 soldiers and their families, and Thailand approved them.

One aircraft landed on the evening of 7 April, waited about an hour and left without passengers, and Thailand's foreign minister said it carried only official documents. The other two flights were cancelled.
